Surf Coast Shire will be holding a special meeting of Council next week to discuss planning controls in the West Coast Business Park.
Mayor, Cr Libby Coker, said the special meeting of Council, to be held on Wednesday 14 April at 6pm, would discuss the clarification of a number of planning issues in the business park.
“Council has identified the need to clarify planning policy as it applies to the assessment of individual applications lodged in the business park,” Cr Coker said.
“It is important that these issues are addressed as development in the business park begins.”
Meanwhile, Cr Coker said screening trees at the front of the West Coast Business Park will be replanted in late autumn in order to ensure new trees can quickly become established.
“The trees Council initially planted to help screen the area have grown well, while the developer has agreed to replace trees it had planted that haven’t survived. We expect the trees that are established to grow strongly this year.
“Appropriate screening of the West Coast Business Park from the Surf Coast Highway remains a priority for Council, just as it always has,” Cr Coker said.
