You are invited to get a sneak peak of some of this year’s best local art at the Surf Coast art calendar exhibition being held from October 6-13 at Torquay Central.

Each year, local artists are invited to submit their original art work for the opportunity to have it included in the Surf Coast Shire’s popular annual calendar; which showcases the creativity and talent of local artists for all to enjoy.

Artists are busily working on their entries, which must be received on Tuesday 5 October at Torquay Central from 10am-6pm.  All entries will then go on exhibition between Wednesday 6 October and Wednesday 13 October from 10am-4pm at Torquay Central; where you can join the vote for the People’s Choice award.

Artists to be included in the calendar will be announced at the exhibition launch at 6pm on Thursday 7 October.

Mayor, Cr Libby Coker, said the Surf Coast Shire calendar is a great opportunity for local artists to be put on show.

“We have a vibrant tradition of great art on the Surf Coast.  I know a lot of people look forward to seeing the selections each year in Surf Coast Shire’s calendar; but this exhibition is a great chance to get a sneak peek at this year’s offerings and have your say on your favourite works.”

Entry to the exhibition is free of charge.
